Contact center agents might find it harder to stay focused on work now that a long-awaited Spring is here. Don’t fight it, managers – use the season change to meet goals and boost morale.
Take these three steps:
- Set short-term goals. Break large and/or long-term goals into weekly targets. Agents will get a fast sense of accomplishment as they reach them in the coming weeks.
- Reward effort. Celebrate efforts with food (bagels, fruit, pizza, salads) and offer small rewards for the weekly accomplishments ($5 gift cards, extended lunches or leave-early Friday).
- Make long-range plans. When you celebrate accomplishments remind agents how they fit into the long-term goal. And invite them to make summer vacation plans now – it’ll give them something to look forward to and you can start setting up schedules around them.
