No good hires out there? 3 ways to find great employees

You probably haven’t hired anyone in a long time – with more layoffs than expansions in the past years. So now’s the time to try new hiring tactics.

More than half of U.S. businesses that cut staff plan to rebuild it soon, an Accenture study found. And you want to be ready now that it’s time to find and interview contact center job candidates again.

No fears. Here are three ways to jumpstart hiring so you get the right people in your contact center:

  1. Be ready and stay up-to-date. When you don’t have time or need to interview, keep your hiring system updated with current job descriptions, practical scripts for telephone interviews, structured interview questions and processes and forms for rating candidates.
  2. Interview when you don’t have openings. This puts you ahead of the game when it’s time to hire. You already have a pipeline of candidates whom you can call back. Plus, you’ll have more experience asking the right questions and looking for the right attitude and fit for your organization.
  3. Rely on more than intuition. Avoid being the person who says, “But she seemed like such a good fit,” by using several best-practice tools to find new hires. You can find tools to do attitude, honesty, aptitude, etc. tests online. Use them to get a full picture of each candidate.
