No one returns your calls? Try these three tactics to get a callback.
When leaving a voice mail message for customers or co-workers, give a:
- Definition. Get straight to the point. “I need this information from you …”
- Deadline. Let them know when you must have it. “I need your approval by 2 p.m. for an on-time delivery.”
- Benefit. Let them know what’s in it for them. “You’ll save money (or time) if you get back to me by the deadline today.”
Even better, test your message first. Leave it on your voice mail first and listen to it so you’re sure it sounds compelling.
