Stay ahead of mounting demand from customers, colleagues and the boss with these time-management tools.
You should see the to-do list become manageable when you follow these tips from business coach Wayne Pepper:
- Time it. When a new task lands on your desk, ask yourself: Will it take fewer than two minutes to finish? If it will, do it immediately. You’ll see your to-do list dwindle and find larger chunks of time to focus on getting more done.
- Weed out the waste. Take two minutes each day to look at your to-do list. Divide it into what’s crucial and what can wait. Focus on what’s crucial for most of the day. If there’s time at the end of the day, get to the non-critical tasks.
