Some habits may jeopardize your career advancement. Here are the worst offenders.
According to researchers at Forbes, customers, co-workers and your boss may think less of you if you:
- Spend far too much time texting and fiddling with a smartphone or cellular device. A mobile device – and the people calling or texting on the other end of it – don’t make employees look sophisticated. Texting and using the phone in the company of others is usually rude.
- Over-compliment. Yes, it can be done. It’s also called kissing butt or kissing up. Brown-nosing is a poor substitute for actually doing the work that’s required and stepping up when it’s not required.
