Find out what makes Hall of Shame service providers the worst

With this year’s Hall of Shame customer service providers named, the question is: What makes customers give them such low marks?

MSN Money and JZ Analytics has compiled its annual list of companies with the lowest satisfaction ratings. At the top: Bank of America.

But it’s not the only bank on the list – three others join it. Two other industries crowd the top 10 list – cable providers and cell phone service providers.

Why do these industries perpetually provide poor service? (Most of them have been on the annual list prior to this year.) Experts agree:

  • Limited competition. Because they don’t have to beat out other providers for customer loyalty, they don’t always try as hard.
  • A slow economy. Many companies are in such a rush to gain new customers, they’ve failed to provide great service to current customers to keep them loyal.
