Try these four tips to sound fresh and make customers happy:

  1. Drink more often. One sip before a call won’t keep your vocal cords hydrated – and they need to be for better conversations.
  2. Smile. It always makes face-to-face talks more upbeat, and it really does resonate over the phone.
  3. Sit up straight. It allows you to breathe deeper and sound more energized.
  4. Articulate. Pronounce “ing” at the end of words. Open your mouth widely to avoid mumbling and slurring.
