Some days it’s harder to stay focused on your tasks in the contact center. Here’s help when you need to perk up.
Whether you face a slow day, dip in morale or afternoon energy drain, these unique tips can help agents and leaders get their groove back.
- Rub your ears. When certain pressure points are stimulated, blood circulation – thus energy – increases. Turns out, ears have those pressure points, experts say. Massage them both for a minute or so to regain energy.
- Eat a mint. Peppermint or another minty gum or candy stimulates two senses – scent and taste – and delivers a quick pick-me-up.
- Drink more water. If your lips and mouth are dry, it’s an indication that you’re dehydrated, which leads to tiredness. Avoid going for soda or juice, which give a brief sugar-induced high, but then cause a worse drop in energy.
- Move. Take a brisk stroll to the farthest restroom from your desk. Take a cool drink of water. Or, at your workspace, stand and do arm stretches for two minutes: Reach one arm as high as you can toward the ceiling, stretching all the way through toes on the same side. Repeat on the other side.
