4 things that turn off customers fast

Are you committing any of these customer service sins?

You’ll lose credibility and customers fast if you:

  1. Lie. Even so-called little white lies – such as, “It’ll be there by Friday” when you doubt it can be – eat away at customers’ trust.
  2. Give bad information. If you think the information you’re about to give isn’t up to date, offer to double-check and call back customers.
  3. Ignore the obvious. Acknowledge customers when they walk in or call, even if you can’t help them immediately. Also, recognize and acknowledge the emotions they feel when they explain problems or issues.
  4. Use sarcasm. It seldom comes across as intended when spoken and never when written.
