Praise should always be more than saying “good job!” Boost morale and build relationships with praise like this:
- Acknowledge everyday efforts. Praise those little things that, left undone, would cause operations to unravel quickly.
- Spread the word. After you deliver praise directly, tell colleagues or your boss. Indirect praise – what they say to the agent down the line – can be more powerful because it’s a reminder that you’re proud enough to brag.
