Read the following list of words at your next meeting, and then tell your employees to remove them from their vocabularies forever. But don’t stop there. Review all of your sales and marketing literature and hit the “delete” key every time one of these words appears.
Why? Every time a representative of your company uses one of these words or they appear in your literature, you’re telling customers that you’re just like every other company trying to get their business.
For instance, you can’t just say you’re the best, you have to prove it.
So words like “unique” and “best” turn prospects and customers off when they’re used without proof.
Here’s the complete list of words that make customers shudder:
- Leader
- Leading
- Best
- Top
- Unique
- Great
- Solution
- Largest
- Innovative
- Innovator
